Some of you may follow me on Instagram and see my year round behind the scene pictures and Instagram stories. I love showing what photographing a wedding is like from a photographer’s perspective! And for those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram- you get to see the behind the scenes here! This is always my favorite time of the year. My assistant, Amanda and I love working together and we’re always reminded of how much fun we have when we look back on the behind the scenes. My steady second shooter, Erin is always a huge help and makes the day run smoothly and I am forever grateful for her (she appears in a lot of BTS photos as well)!
This year was a lot of fun! I was fortunate enough to travel to Paris to photograph an amazing wedding, I photographed an old friend’s wedding in Lake George, and traveled into a different part of New York City that I have never ventured into before (The Cloisters). What a year! Thank you to all of my amazing 2017 clients!
We started off the year at Highlands Country Club at a snowy wedding. The venue was so cozy and warm and the party was NONSTOP!
Just checking my lighting…
In February, I traveled to Rockland State Park to photograph Barb and Brian’s engagement session. The weather was unseasonably warm and sunny!
My favorite part of their engagement session was photographing the two of them at Broken Bow Brewery where Brian worked for years. Barb and Brian enjoyed a lot of time together at the brewery so it was important to them that part of their session was done there. It was awesome!
In March, I made my second appearance at The Garrison Bridal Expo where I was able to meet some great 2018 clients!
And here you have my handsome husband tagging along assisting me!
I’ll stand wherever necessary to get the right angle.
These types of BTS photos always make me laugh! Here is Amanda and I hanging a wedding gown, making sure it is perfectly positioned for the photo.
This gown was worn by Kate who married Paul at the Falkirk Estate in Monroe, New York.
In July, I ventured to Paris, France. A city I never dreamed I would ever go to. The bride and groom (Lisa and Nick) are good friends with my bestie Nikki. Lisa and I have become friends too as a result! When she asked me to photograph her in Paris, I JUMPED at the chance. The below shots are taken by my bestie Nikki at the couples rehearsal dinner and wedding!
And here was our “wine” night in Paris. I photographed her friends in front of the Eiffel tower at sunset! A mini-engagement session if you will! All BTS by Nikki again!
Just checking the lighting…
All three of us were caught hard at work at this wedding!
And of course, some fun is always had when no one is around.
Woo-hoo to the most delicious food and yummiest treats made by You’re The Boss Events!!!
And somewhere in between all of the weddings, Amanda ventured out on her own to start her own business and we celebrated her birthday.
My mini sessions are always a blast and I always love meeting new clients and seeing old ones. Here, Amanda caught Q (one of my youngest clients) only interested in how the camera works and did not want to pose for it! However, I have a future assistant!
In September I got to see what it is like to work with You’re The Boss Events and photographed some of their BTS work!
Traveling into the city is always a fun adventure especially when it is to someone where I’ve never been AND has unforgettable views of the Hudson River.
Oh you know… just being fancy at the Cloisters.
In October I traveled to Lake George to photograph a wedding of a very old friend of mine. Along the way we stopped to enjoy the fog coming off the mountains full of foliage. Here I caught Amanda snapping a photo of the view.
In November, I worked at a hurricane relief benefit put on by Revive Your Hair Salon. Family photos were done and all proceeds went to all areas affected by the recent hurricanes.
Always having fun in front of the camera…
+ the introduction of my new addition. The glittery fanny pack. For the win. Of course.
I ended the year with an engagement session with big snowflakes and a Christmas tree farm! Amanda was wrapped in decorations but seemed to love every minute.
